Many students think that if they know all the facts in the textbook, they will get an A*. This is false. The exam tests your ability to answer questions the way Cambridge wants them answered.
Think Like an Examiner
The Mark Scheme is literally the answer key. It shows you the specific keywords examiners are instructed to look for. In Biology, for example, saying 'water moves' might get 0 marks, while saying 'water moves by osmosis down a water potential gradient' gets 2 marks.
The "Allow" and "Ignore" Columns

- Allow: Alternative acceptable answers.
- Ignore / Reject: Common student mistakes that explicitly yield zero marks.
